Yuletide Blessings

21 12 2007

At this time of darkness, when we remember the rebirth of the God and the coming again of the light, let’s celebrate the fact that nothing is past redemption; that by proper atonement and by effort of will, our bad and unhappy pasts can be laid to rest behind us. We can shuck them off like an old worn coat, and leave them lying in the road as we go on renewed. Let us make the effort, this Yuletide, to remember those who are less fortunate and to pray for them. Let us feel the strength of our families and those who have gone before, and rejoice in the power to be found in ordinary things.
